If your car does not have the 12 pin DLC connector, you may not be able to manually "flash" your trouble codes. The language "may be possible" appears to suggest that this method should work with most, if not all, 12 pin DLC equipped cars.

DISPLAYING THE TROUBLE CODES
Run a wire/hairpin from Pin 6 to Pin 12 with the ignition off (although on later cars it should be from Pin 5 to Pin 6), then turning the ignition to the on position without starting the engine will flash the "Service Engine Soon" light in the following sequence: flash, pause, flash-flash, long pause flash, pause, flash-flash, long pause flash, pause, flash-flash, long pause Following this "12" code repeating three times will come any trouble codes stored, flashing each of them three times. If you do not see the "12" flash three times, your diagnostic circuit is defective.
Some vehicles will display stored trouble codes, then "12" again, followed by energizing "most system controlled relays." The fuel pump relay will not energize. The idle air control valve will fully extend to enable checking minimum idle speed.

CLEARING THE TROUBLE CODES
Turn the keyswitch to the off position. To clear any trouble codes, disconnect the power feed for 30 seconds. If this is done at the battery, and your car stereo is equipped and programmed with a four digit pin code, you may have to re-enter that as well to use your stereo again. A better place to remove power is at the fuse.

   21. High voltage at throttle positon sensor
   22. Low voltage at throttle positon sensor OR
       Fuel cutoff relay circuit open or shorted to ground
   23. Low temperature at manifold air temperature sensor OR
       Throttle position sensor error
   24. Circuit fault in vehicle speed sensor
   25. High temperature at manifold air temperature sensor OR
       Vacuum switching valve circuit open or shorted to ground OR
       High voltage at ATS sensor
   26. Fault in quad driver module
   27. Fault in 2nd gear switch
   28. Fault in 3rd gear switch
   29. Fault in 4th gear switch
   30. N/A
   31. Low voltage at manifold absolute pressure sensor OR
       Fuel injector OR
       Park or neutral switch OR
       CAM diagnostic OR
       Governor malfunction OR
       Wastegate overboost OR
       Wastegate eletrical signal open or shorted to ground
   32. Fault in barometric pressure sensor circuit OR
       Fault in exhaust gas recirculation valve diagnostic switch OR
       Fault in electronic vacuum regulator valve
   33. High voltage (low vacuum) at mass air flow sensor (or MAP sensor)
   34. Low voltage (high vacuum) at mass air flow sensor (or MAP sensor)
   35. Idle speed can not be set to desired RPM
   36. Burn off at mass air flow sensor OR
       Problem in transmission shift OR
       Fault in direct ignition system OR

Du fÄr ta bort detta benke om du inte tycker det passar sig...

Under din instrumentpanel pÄ vÀnster sida om ratten Àr en kontakt med 12 stift .
Böj ett gem sÄ att du fÄr in det i de tvÄ övre stiften pÄ höger sida 5-6.
SlÄ sedan pÄ tÀndningen , men starta inte motorn .
Din SES-lampa kommer nu att börja blinka fram koder .
Den första koden Àr alltid 12 , dvs 1 blink , mellanrum , 2 blink , detta gör den tre gÄnger innan nÀsta kod blinkar tre upprepade gÄnger .
NÀr alla koder har visats blinkar den kod 12 igen tre gÄnger.
Hinner du inte med att kolla , stÀng av tÀndningen och slÄ pÄ igen sÄ börjar allt om .
NÀr du Àr klar , stÀng av tÀndningen , ta bort gemet , och fixa koderna

Informationen om felkoder Àr "lÄnad" frÄn Thirdgen.org. Jag vet inte nÀr "brytpunkten" Àr men min -85:a fÄr jag bygla 5-6 i alla fall. Om man kollar i kontakten vilka det sitter stift i sÄ kanske det gÄr att lista ut hur man skall bygla. PÄ min bil finns det bara stift i nr:1-2-4-5-6-7. Resten Àr tomma. Jag funderar pÄ om det kanske Àr fel information om byglingen i den trÄden. FrÄn och med 1986 Àr det mer avancerad insprutning sÄ det borde ju vara fler stift dÄ, och att man dÄ skall bygla 6-12. Men som sagt, det Àr bara en fundering...

en frÄga angÄende detta med felkoder, tÀnkte kolla mina nu i dagarna. Men jag fattar inte riktigt, man ska ju sÀtta gemet dÀr sen slÄ pÄ tÀndningen, den blinkar o har sig som den ska 3 ggr. Men sen nÀr den visar upp felkoder, hur vet man att det tex Àr code 23 m.m? Mvh Fredrik

NÀr du sÀtter pÄ tÀndningen sÄ kommer lampan blinka... 1 lÄng och strax efter 2 snabba .. detta gör den 3 ggr efter varandra..

Första blinkningen Àr ju 10 tal och efter den lilla pausen kommer EN talen..

NÀr den gjort 3 första tolvorna sÄ kanske den börjar blinka

ex. 2 snabba blink efter varandra och sen paus och sen 3 snabba blink = 23 alltsÄ....

FörstÄr du eller ska jag försöka förklara mer?..

Du mÀrker hur det verkar nÀr du sett 12:orna.. 1 paus 2 snabba =12

2snabba paus 3snabba = 23...

ObS!! Glöm inte att ta ur kabeln (gemet) efter att du gjort testet.. Starta inte bilen med bygeln i.. Kan bli trÄkigheter dÄ..
SjÀlv glömde jag det en gÄng och kom pÄ det direkt.. men jag klarade mig... sÄ tur kan man ha ocksÄ...
